literary perversions: a curated range of actually, great BDSM fiction

My guide club has an issue. It’s hard to find good fiction.

The Leather Bindings Society satisfies every six months and we also alternate between reading non-fiction and fiction. Our company is particularly enthusiastic about publications about and associated with BDSM, Leather, fetish and kink. There’s non-fiction aplenty: even if we omit the endless 101-level how-to guides, today’s offerings in memoir, biography, academic work and community-based texts are rich and varied on these topics. We don’t find yourself loving every written guide we read, but we have a great amount of solid people to select from. However when it comes down to fiction… hooboy. Not very simple. We often omit pure porn/erotica from go, since it’s built to move you to wank, not to ever offer interesting fodder for conversation. Periodically a work of erotica manages to strike sufficient plot, character, establishing and metaphor records to the office, but such publications are quite few. While we’re open to genre fiction, it usually presents quality issues: predictable plots, ho-hum writing, terrible modifying, and ultimately very little to mention. (I mean… the Gor novels are simply no. that is… Searching for BDSM fiction frequently introduces mostly both of these forms of publications. On the other side hand, searching for BDSM-relevant publications in the world of literary fiction is a lot harder, due to the fact many relevant people tend to be indirect or greatly metaphorical inside their discussions—you frequently won’t see them simply by using “BDSM” being a key phrase.
